The University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM) has appointed Tarek N. Hanna, MD, FASER, as Chair of the Department of Diagnostic Radiology & Nuclear Medicine. He will also serve as President of University of Maryland Diagnostic Imaging Specialists and Chief of Diagnostic Radiology & Nuclear Medicine Clinical Service at the University of Maryland Medical Center.

Dr. Hanna joins UMSOM from Emory University School of Medicine, where he served as Professor, Vice Chair of Diagnostic Imaging, and Division Director of Emergency and Trauma Imaging. He is a nationally recognized expert in emergency and trauma radiology with a focus on optimizing imaging operations and reducing diagnostic errors.
