Johns Hopkins University named Jeffrey Angiel as Vice President of Facilities. Jeff has more than 25 years of leadership experience in higher education and public infrastructure facilities management. Most recently, he served as Associate Vice Chancellor and Executive Director of Facilities & Services at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where he oversaw a team of more than 1,200 professionals responsible for 650 buildings and 23 million square feet across campus.

Earlier in his career, Angiel served as Director of Facilities Operations at the University at Buffalo (SUNY), where he oversaw facilities across three campuses totaling more than 11 million square feet. In that role, he implemented organizational and cultural changes that strengthened efficiency, accountability, and customer service.
As Vice President of Facilities at Johns Hopkins, Angiel will provide strategic direction for the stewardship of the university’s 8.3 million square feet of academic and research space across multiple campuses. He will oversee facilities operations, including plant and grounds maintenance, custodial services, utilities, transportation, parking, and sustainability. Angiel will play a key role in modernizing operations through innovation and technology, improving operational efficiency, implementing performance metrics, advancing decarbonization and sustainability goals, and fostering a high-performing, service-oriented culture that supports Johns Hopkins’ mission of discovery, education, and service.
