Michael “Mike” Hill has been named Vice President for Human Resources and Chief Human Resources Officer (VPHR) at the University of Tampa.

Hill brings more than a decade of leadership experience in higher education and human resources. In his former role at North Carolina Central University, he led transformative HR initiatives focused on operational effectiveness, employee engagement, and professional development. His previous roles include leadership positions at the University of Michigan, the College for Creative Studies, and Cayman Chemical.

Hill holds degrees from Oakland University and Central Michigan University and is currently pursuing a doctorate in business administration from the University of Arkansas.

He succeeds Donna Popovich, who is retiring after 40 years of service to the University of Tampa.
