Colorado College has hired Khaleel Gathers as its new vice president and chief information officer. Gathers was previously associate vice president and chief information officer for information technology services at SUNY Buffalo State University.
Gathers will bring more than 30 years in the technology sector and 25 years of higher education experience to Colorado College’s ITS department. He is known for working across the campus to identify technology opportunities, efficiencies, and enhancements, and for his leadership in guiding strategic vision.
“Khaleel is a skilled ITS professional, team player, and visionary leader, and he brings wisdom, passion, and a commitment to excellence,” said Search Chair and Vice President for Enrollment Mark Hatch. “He impressed the committee with his experience, his insights, and his passion for the work that we do to support faculty, staff, and students alike.”
“I am honored and excited to join the Colorado College community and work with the talented team of IT professionals to advance the college’s efforts in digital transformation,” said Gathers. “I look forward to collaborating with the college’s leadership team, faculty, and staff to provide innovative technology solutions that support student success and the college’s academic mission.”
Gathers says he wants to develop an enterprise architecture for a digitally focused, student-centered, multi-modal smart campus for CC. He earned his B.S. in management information systems and his M.S. in higher education administration from SUNY Buffalo State.
