JoAnn Wood, MD, MSME, MHA, AAP, ACP has been named Deaconess Health System Vice President and Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Wood joined Deaconess in September 2020, having most recently served as chief medical officer for Baptist Memorial Hospital – DeSoto in Southaven, Mississippi.
Dr. Wood received her MD and completed her residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at the University of Louisville, and completed a fellowship in academic general internal medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In addition, Dr. Wood holds a master’s degree in medical education, a Master of Health Administration, and completed the Intermountain Advanced Training Program in Health Care Delivery and Improvement. She is also a TeamSTEPPS master trainer and Fellow of both the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Physicians.
