Penn Highlands Healthcare CEO Steven Fontaine was attracted to a career in healthcare because of the variety of experiences one encounters throughout a given day. Those varied experiences helped him hone skills for growing and consolidating disparate entities into integrated systems.

Relying on advice he received growing up, Fontaine is committed to treating others as he’d like to be treated as he looks for leaders with new ideas, who are unafraid to offer bold, unique solutions for consideration. “We’re looking for those who bring outside-the-box thinking,” he says, “people who bring new ideas and fresh concepts to the table.” In building his leadership team, Fontaine leverages a vision for the future that attracts executives who feel a like commitment to serving the communities of rural Pennsylvania.
