Carnegie Mellon University has appointed Dr. Tania (Tani) Castañeda as Vice Provost for Enrollment Management and Dean of Admission. She joins CMU from Teachers College, Columbia University, where she served as Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Success.
At Teachers College, Castañeda led strategic initiatives in enrollment planning, financial aid, and student support, resulting in increased application volume, new online degree programs, and enhanced student services. She previously served as Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management at Rutgers University–New Brunswick, overseeing enrollment efforts across nine schools and colleges.
Castañeda holds an Ed.D. in organizational leadership and development from Northeastern University, master’s degrees in mental health counseling and psychology, and a bachelor’s degree from Wellesley College.
