The addition of Osborne expands WittKieffer’s ability to help organizations strengthen board effectiveness and board/CEO alignment.
WittKieffer, the premier executive search and leadership advisory firm serving organizations that improve quality of life, today announced the addition of Erica Osborne, MPH, as Principal in WittKieffer’s Global Board Advisory Practice, expanding the firm’s governance consulting capabilities at a time when boards are facing heightened expectations around strategy, succession, performance, and oversight.
Boards are navigating a period of sustained pressure, with leadership transitions, financial constraints, workforce challenges, evolving operating models and heightened oversight demands reshaping governance expectations. With more than 20 years of experience in governance, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness, Osborne is recognized as a trusted advisor to boards and executives across healthcare systems, community health agencies, and nonprofit and philanthropic organizations.
Her expertise spans governance assessments, board education, strategic planning, stakeholder alignment, leadership development, and board succession planning. Prior to joining WittKieffer, she co-founded a boutique healthcare board advisory firm, building a nationally recognized advisory practice that advised hundreds of boards and executive leadership teams across a range of organizations.
“Boards are under immense pressure to navigate complex issues while maintaining focus on organizational purpose and long-term strategy,” said Laura Orr, Global Board Advisory Leader for WittKieffer. “Strong governance results from intentional investments in board composition, leadership, processes, and culture. Erica’s experience will enhance our ability to help boards elevate their performance and effectiveness.”
“The most effective boards continually evolve to meet the demands of the organizations they serve,” said Osborne. “Governance excellence can be a differentiator by shaping how well leaders navigate succession, transformation, risk, and long-term strategy. I am excited to join WittKieffer and help clients build high-performing boards equipped for the challenges and opportunities ahead.”
The announcement follows the publication of Creating a High-Impact Board, a governance report from WittKieffer that examines the practices distinguishing the most effective boards and offers a practical framework for improving governance performance. Developed from decades of experience advising boards and executive leaders, the report reinforces the same premise behind Osborne’s appointment: organizations need more intentional, future-focused governance to address rising expectations for board performance, leadership succession, and strategic oversight.
