The COD Spring Meeting is held annually and is the only national meeting designed exclusively for medical school deans. Every other year it is held jointly with the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH). The Spring Meeting provides deans with the opportunity to access shared experiences and learn from global experts about promising practices that can be implemented to address key challenges to sustaining the medical education enterprise. In addition to putting leaders in touch with the ideas and experiences of experts inside and outside of academic medicine, the meeting provides opportunities for networking and interaction based on adult learning principles that will spark the creativity and novel thinking needed to drive change.
