Jonathan D. Mathis, PhD, has been announced as Chief Executive Officer of the Center for Supportive Schools (CSS). Mathis “comes to this role with vast expertise in cultivating transformational experiences across primary, secondary, and postsecondary educational institutions and nonprofit organizations,” said Frits Besselaar, Chair of the CSS Board of Trustees.
“Further, he brings a deep commitment to improving education, promoting student achievement, and advancing the professional development of educators. I am confident that his experience, knowledge, and passion make Jonathan an excellent fit to lead CSS as we move forward in achieving our vision that one day, all children will thrive in schools that graduate them prepared for the rigors of college and lives filled with meaningful work, active citizenship, and personal fulfillment.”
