To prepare a Physician Leader transitioning into a role, WittKieffer provides tailored assistance in understanding their role and organizational context, their individual strengths and areas for growth, leadership strategies, and current healthcare trends or challenges their organization may face. WittKieffer integrates our deep understanding of healthcare leadership, mentorship from prior Physician Leaders on staff, and the expertise of our Leadership Advisory consultants into this onboarding process all to support and accelerate the impact the Physician Leader will have in their role. The Physician Accelerator program is designed for 1 to 3 participants.
Program Stages
Intended to be highly interactive, the Physician Leader is also given pre-work in the form of readings or exercises to spur their learning between sessions. This pre-work supplements the content of the upcoming session.
- ASSESSMENT: Leadership assessments of the participant drive the identification of strengths and needs and complement the individualized approach.
- ALIGNMENT: The Physician Leader is introduced
to certified coach and mentor, prompting guided conversation around the organizational context and self, including a debrief of assessment results. - LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PLANNING: Building from assessment data, the physician leader is assisted in creating a development plan that ties to the organizational context.
- HEALTH CARE TRENDS: The mentor leads a discussion of a topical healthcare trend relevant to the physician leader’s organizational context.
- INTEGRATION: Physician Leader and mentor discuss leadership needs and organizational priorities to accelerate success in the role.
- ONGOING SUPPORT: After completion of these four sessions, the coach and mentor will follow up with the Physician Leader and the organization to conduct check-ins on progress across outlined priorities.
Throughout the program, the WittKieffer team follows up with Physician Leader and the organizational sponsor to ensure alignment on strategic priorities and the executive’s leadership development plan. Upon the conclusion of the program, the Physician Leader, organizational sponsor, and WittKieffer team connect on the progress the Physician Leader made throughout the program and how they can sustain success.
