WittKieffer is pleased to announce the addition of Angelique David, J.D. to its board of directors.
David is a prominent and transformational executive, business strategist, and legal and financial services expert with an impressive track record of service to the professional community. She is currently executive managing director, chief operating officer and general counsel for Ziegler, a Chicago-based private investment bank. She is responsible for all of the company’s human capital, ethics, compliance, cybersecurity programs, diversity and inclusion, legal and regulatory affairs as well as all corporate governance and brand identity activities. Angelique also serves as a director on Ziegler’s board of directors, a member of its executive committee and chair of its operating committee and diversity, equity and inclusion committee.
David’s addition to WittKieffer’s board reflects the firm’s continued emphasis on adapting its governance to meet the needs of today’s marketplace and to better serve its not-for-profit and for-profit clients worldwide. “We are very pleased to welcome Angelique to our board. Her proven leadership in the areas of law, ethics, human capital, risk management, strategy and finance will bring invaluable expertise to our board proceedings,” said Board Chair Tom Richards, M.D. “I’m confident she will have a positive impact on WittKieffer’s growth objectives and contribute greatly to the evolving culture of our board and its governance activities.”
Among her many other professional and leadership roles, David serves as a board trustee for Chicago State University, past chair for the Chicago State Foundation and Bond Dealers of America and a board director of Women in Public Finance. She was named one of the 2021 “25 Influential Black Women in Business” by The Network Journal, Crain’s Chicago Business 2021 Notable General Counsels and she received the 2021 Excellence in Leadership Award from Chicago State Foundation. She is also the founder of Just 4 GirlFriends, LLC, a group that brings leading professional women together to enjoy engaging experiences and embrace self-care.
David becomes the fourth external board member for WittKieffer, joining Dr. Richards, a successful life sciences executive and former academic physician and investment banker; Camille Chang Gilmore, vice president of human resources and global chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer (CDEIO) for medical device and healthcare firm Boston Scientific; and Ed Grier, dean of the Leavey School of Business at the University of Santa Clara and a former senior Walt Disney executive.
