H. Lawrence “Larry” Ross is a Senior Partner and Lead Partner for Private Equity with WittKieffer, spearheading the firm’s efforts in building boards and executive teams for healthcare and life sciences investors and their portfolio companies. Larry is one of the foremost experts regarding leadership in these industries, with more than three decades of experience placing transformative executives and building trusted relationships with prominent investors, operators, and talent partners from across the private capital landscape. His expertise complements WittKieffer’s purpose-built team of more than 50 professionals serving investor-driven organizations through comprehensive, tailored solutions.
Larry has played an integral role in the incubation, transformation, and growth of scores of sponsor-backed healthcare companies. Before combining forces with WittKieffer, he was Managing Partner and Founder of Ross & Company, having established the firm in 1992 with a focus on C-suite and board searches across a broad spectrum of asset classes, from concept and seed stage start-ups to middle market and large cap companies to publicly traded corporations. Larry has also placed Operating Partners, Heads of Talent, and Managing Directors at many of the most respected private equity funds and sponsors. Before launching Ross & Company, Larry was a recruiter with two of the largest global executive search firms within their healthcare and venture capital practices.
Larry was a founding sponsor and is the current Chair of Healthcare Leaders (HCL), whose events convene leading investors and portfolio company operators from the healthcare industry. Healthcare Leaders and its signature events have become an integral part of WittKieffer’s thought leadership initiatives and healthcare industry offerings.
Larry is a past Board Member of the National Wildlife Refuge Association. He also previously served as Secretary of the Executive Search Council and on the HR Committee of the Board of the Lasker Foundation (which bestows the prestigious Lasker Awards annually for cutting-edge research in medicine and the life sciences). Larry and his wife Andrea, a former pediatric nurse at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, have eight children and split their personal time between River Road Farm in Manchester Village, Vermont, and Fishers Island, New York.
