The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) seeks an innovative and results-oriented Chief Population Health Officer (CPHO) to lead the organization's population health strategy and advance value-based care across Arkansas' only academic health system. This is a unique opportunity to improve health outcomes for communities across the state while supporting UAMS' mission of clinical care, education, research, and innovation.
Reporting directly to the UAMS Chancellor and Chief Executive Officer of UAMS Health, the CPHO will provide strategic, operational, and financial leadership for the population health enterprise, including the Medicare Accountable Care Organization (ACO), care management programs, population health analytics, risk-based reimbursement arrangements, and the continued development of a Clinically Integrated Network (CIN).
The CPHO will partner closely with physician leaders, faculty, health system executives, community providers, and health plans to improve quality outcomes, enhance patient experience, reduce total cost of care, and strengthen UAMS' position as a statewide leader in value-based care. The successful candidate will also identify opportunities for growth, expand strategic partnerships, and ensure population health initiatives align with the organization's long-term strategic priorities.
The ideal candidate will bring a demonstrated record of success leading population health transformation within a complex healthcare environment, along with expertise in accountable care, clinical integration, physician alignment, healthcare analytics, care management, and risk-based contracting. Strong leadership, relationship-building, and change management skills will be essential for success in this highly visible executive role.
