Wellstar Health System is seeking a Vice President of Care Management for a newly created, inaugural role based in Marietta, Georgia. This is a unique opportunity to shape and advance care management across a large, complex health system at a pivotal moment of transformation.
Wellstar is one of Georgia’s largest nonprofit health systems, comprising 11 hospitals, more than 300 medical office locations, and over 34,000 team members and physicians. Known for strong operational leadership and a commitment to improvement, Wellstar delivers high-acuity care across a broad and growing continuum of services.
Reporting at the system level, the Vice President will serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert—guiding the care management operating model rather than leading a centralized function. This highly field-facing role partners closely with hospital leaders, including CFOs and CMOs, to drive performance through influence, standardization, and operational rigor.
Key priorities include improving patient status determination, reducing avoidable days, enhancing throughput, and optimizing total cost of care. The Vice President will help address systemwide capacity pressures while advancing consistency and governance across care management practices.
The ideal candidate is a pragmatic, operationally focused leader with deep care management expertise, strong financial acumen, and the credibility to influence clinical and administrative stakeholders. Success will be measured by measurable, sustained improvement across the enterprise.
