Bradley Hospital, a member of Brown University Health, is seeking a dynamic, operational, physician leader to serve as Chief Medical Officer. Bradley Hospital is building a new state-of-the-art research center focusing on children and adolescents’ scientific breakthroughs. Brown University Health, a comprehensive, integrated, academic health system with The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, has a strategic priority to make Bradley Hospital nationally recognized in child psychiatry, and the next CMO will play an integral role in making that goal a reality.
Reporting directly to the Hospital President, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) provides direction and support to the medical staff, guiding the fulfillment of the organization’s mission, vision, plans, and objectives in the provision of high-quality inpatient and outpatient care. The CMO is responsible for ensuring the overall quality and effectiveness of medical care, including clinical aspects of care and service quality, patient, and provider experience.
The CMO will be expected to effectively communicate with and among the medical staff. The CMO is a major voice for the medical staff to the Hospital President and health system. The CMO will communicate organization-wide activities, decisions, and policies to the medical staff. The CMO serves as a resource to the medical staff in re-credentialing, reappointment, peer review, and overall hospital quality. The CMO works in close collaboration with senior leaders to evaluate and monitor performance and the quality of care and develops and implements policies and programs to improve care within the organization.
The successful candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of inpatient and outpatient psychiatric operations as well as a proven track record of developing innovative solutions in clinical care. It is expected the next CMO will be clinically active 40-50% of their time. Candidates will have a passion for education and research and are skilled at developing the next generation of clinician scientists. Candidates will understand the value of building effective relationships with multiple partners and stakeholders in a highly matrixed environment. This person will be eligible for appointment with The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
