Get in TouchSue Ellen Wagner is a highly respected board advisor with more than 20 years of experience supporting health care boards and executive leaders in navigating complex governance and strategic challenges. As a Senior Advisor in WittKieffer’s Leadership Advisory group, she partners with healthcare boards to develop governance best practices and embrace emerging industry trends, supporting them to increase their impact.
Previously, Sue Ellen served as Vice President, Trustee Engagement and Strategies at the American Hospital Association (AHA), leading the development of trustee in-person education, webinars, podcasts, tools, and resources to enhance member engagement and governance effectiveness. From 2007 to 2020, she was Executive Director of Healthcare Trustees of New York State (HTNYS), where she oversaw trustee advocacy and board engagement and education, and served as the statewide and national spokesperson. She led a team that produced one of the nation’s largest statewide trustee conferences that delivered high-quality governance education. She also held several senior leadership roles for the Healthcare Association of New York State’s policy leadership team overseeing workforce, physician, and community health initiatives.
Sue Ellen has authored numerous articles and governance resources for health care trustees and executives and is a frequent speaker at key health care industry events.
