Children’s Nebraska (Children’s) is seeking a dynamic, innovative and forward-thinking leader to serve as the Vice President, Technology & Innovation (VP). The VP will join Children’s, the only full-service pediatric health care center in Nebraska, at an exciting time and will be instrumental in achieving its mission to improve the life of every child through exceptional care, advocacy, research, and education.

Reporting to the Executive Vice President and Chief Information and Innovation Officer (CIIO), the incoming VP functions as the deputy technology leader and strategic partner to the CIIO and will look for ways to elevate Children’s operational effectiveness, competitive position, and growth strategy. This leader will serve as a strategist and operational leader to deliver upon the promise of an exceptional patient experience. In addition, the VP will strengthen data & analytics infrastructure and governance to support data-driven decision making and partner across the organization to improve the patient experience and anticipate Children’s future technological needs. The VP will ensure stable operations and innovation to enable growth strategy and the organization’s competitive position and serve as a strong team member, with an emphasis on collaboration. The VP will also have influence over enterprise-wide digital strategy and cloud modernization as well as decision making authority over architecture standards, technology investments, and portfolio governance. The VP will be joining Children’s as it has begun an exciting new chapter in its story after the completion of a campus-doubling expansion and the arrival of a visionary president and CEO, Chanda Chacón MPH, FACHE in September 2020. Founded by the community, for the community, Children’s Nebraska continues to honor the legacy of its founders, innovating, evolving, and expanding in order to meet the medical needs of the region’s children. In 2024, Children’s opened the Mammel Innovation Center, and the VP will be involved in supporting innovation programs, product development, pilots, automation, and applied emerging technology initiatives.
To be successful in this role, the VP will support Children’s strategic goals and operations by ensuring secure, highly reliable application solutions and technology infrastructure and through advancement of innovative, digital technology solutions. The VP will be an excellent communicator, a collaborative team player, and a mentor who can develop and elevate the team. The VP will possess experience with the Epic EHR and a proven track record of success as a technology leader within a health system.
