The Ohio Hospital Association (OHA) and its members are seeking a relationship-oriented, influential, bold leader to serve as its next President and Chief Executive Officer (President). This is a unique opportunity to lead one of the most respected healthcare associations in the country. This leader will succeed the current President, Mike Abrams, who is retiring after many years of distinguished service to OHA.
OHA is widely recognized as a leading advocate for hospitals, patients, and the communities they serve across Ohio and as a powerful and respected voice for state hospital interests in Washington, D.C. The President will focus on representing the membership and being attuned to every member's individual needs and advocacy priorities. OHA is widely recognized for its credibility, effectiveness, and impact at the intersection of health care delivery and public policy.
Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the President will work closely with the board, member organizations and OHA staff to advance a strategic vision to achieve goals and objectives that are reflective of its members and support the current and future needs for accessible, quality healthcare for the residents of the state of Ohio. This is an exciting opportunity to lead OHA at one of the most important and dynamic times in its history—advocating for hospitals and health systems as they navigate workforce shortages, financial pressures, and unprecedented demand for care. OHA will require leadership that can adeptly navigate the breadth and depth of these unprecedented times while representing a diverse yet aligned membership.
The next President will build on a strong foundation—an engaged membership, a talented, dedicated staff, and a trusted brand—while unifying diverse perspectives, elevating OHA’s voice, and extending its influence amid increasing policy and operational complexity.
