The University of Oxford is seeking to appoint the next Regius Professor of Medicine, one of the most distinguished academic appointments in the world. Established by Royal Charter, this historic chair embodies both tradition and innovation—linking centuries of medical scholarship with the challenges and opportunities of modern science.
The Regius Professor will be an internationally renowned clinical researcher of exceptional vision, whose work has shaped and continues to shape the future of medicine. The successful candidate will join a world-leading research environment within the Medical Sciences Division of the University and will hold a Fellowship at Christ Church.
This is an opportunity to lead at the highest level: to inspire and mentor the next generation of medical researchers, to foster partnerships across academia, industry, and the NHS, and to serve as a visible advocate for the role of medicine in advancing human health globally.
Applications are welcome from both clinical and non-clinical candidates (but all applicants must have a medical degree). Oxford is committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion. Applications are particularly welcome from women and black and minority ethnic candidates, who are under-represented in academic posts in Oxford.
Committed to equality and valuing diversity.
