Valleywise Health, one of the most respected public teaching hospitals and safety net health care systems in the country, is seeking an accomplished and strategic human resources leader to serve as its next Senior Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). Located in Phoenix, this is an excellent opportunity to cultivate a state-of-the-art human resources function during an exciting time of growth and transformation for the organization.
Among its many awards and recognitions, Valleywise Health was named one of the 100 Top Hospitals in the nation by Watson Health. The system includes Valleywise Health Medical Center with 325 beds, three behavioral health hospitals with 433 beds, the Arizona Burn Center, and a network 9 Federally Qualified Community Health Centers and two Comprehensive Health Centers located throughout Maricopa County. The new CHRO will bring a forward-thinking approach to elevate human resources service delivery across Valleywise. Employee engagement and collaboration are strengths of the organization, and the next CHRO will have a style aligned with the system’s values and supportive culture. The new CHRO will need to be an engaging and visible leader who will focus on a cultural change within human resources developing a high functioning team. Specific resource areas that need strategic direction include compensation and benefits, organizational development, and a roadmap for diversity, equity, and inclusion. This is an exciting time to be joining this growing health system which has recently invested in rebranding efforts and is opening a new teaching hospital in Summer 2024.
The new CHRO will modernize human resources to prepare for the future workforce needs of the organization as the organization continues to grow. The CHRO will lead and recommend strategies that will increase the morale and wellness of employees while articulating a vision for human resources. Valleywise Health is looking for creative and experienced human resources leaders who have a deep understanding of the communities they have served.
