Wilmington, DE – ChristianaCare invites nominations, inquiries, and applications for the position of Chief Wellbeing Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to strengthen and expand distinct and innovative wellbeing initiatives across a growing, nationally recognized academic health system. The organization has developed a highly regarded, robust wellbeing program that continues to have a notable, positive impact for the entire ChristianaCare caregiver community, inclusive of providers and all employees (caregivers) of the health system. The system is home to 13,500+ caregivers, 4,500+ nurses and care technicians, 300+ residents and fellows and is continually recognized by US News & World Report as a “Best Hospital.” The continued growth of ChristianaCare has extended to an increase in focused efforts towards evaluating and improving the wellbeing of caregivers, resulting in the development of the Center for WorkLife Wellbeing, under the direction of the CWO.
Reporting to Dr. Neil Jasani, M.D., MBA, FACEP, Chief Clinical Officer of ChristianaCare, the CWO will lead the organizational strategy to advance professional fulfillment, health and wellbeing across the organization. This leader will continue to oversee programs that focus on enhancing engagement and improvement in the work environment and work life balance of caregivers.
The successful candidate will have a substantive record of accomplishment in developing, implementing and/or leading wellbeing initiatives within a complex clinical environment. They will have intimate knowledge and experience in advancing wellness, working as a collaborator, and earning the respect of peers and colleagues through professional achievement, accountability and fairness. This leader will have an innate passion for achieving caregiver wellbeing with a vision for how wellness integrates into the clinical, research, educational and community missions.
Professional experience and qualifications include:
- An M.D., or D.O. is preferred with current Board Certification and licensure, or eligibility for licensure in the state of Delaware
- Those with a terminal degree in a clinically related field with relevant wellbeing leadership experience are also encouraged to apply
- An advanced degree in management or administration (i.e., MBA, MMM, MHCSD), and an active understanding of current clinical practice are preferred qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership in administrative positions in a medical school or an academic medical center setting
