Chief Operating Officer
Prism Health North Texas
Dallas, TX - United States
Prism Health North Texas (PHNTX) is seeking an experienced operations leader to serve as its next Chief Operating Officer. This is a unique opportunity to join a highly-regarded, mission-driven organization as it continues its transition into a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) (look-alike designation).
PHNTX has operated in the Dallas community since 1986 and is the largest nonprofit HIV/AIDS service organization in North Texas. Currently providing HIV care, STI and HIV testing, transgender care, and more, PHNTX will further expand its services and programs as an FQHC when it achieves its look-alike designation in the near future. PHNTX is embarking upon a substantial growth opportunity as it expands to serve all ages and all populations, becoming one of four FQHCs in the Dallas area where the need is substantial.
The COO will oversee all areas of the organization, including clinical operations and quality, patient services, pharmacy, finance, human resources, information technology, marketing, and legal. As Integrator, the COO will support, communicate, and implement the strategic direction of the organization; provide leadership and insights to optimize financial outcomes, service improvement, and market position; and formulate a clear operational plan, exploring areas for improvement and opportunities to enhance outcomes. The COO will drive performance improvement within the context of quality, operational excellence, service, and teamwork and will commit and contribute to a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. As PHNTX continues its growth trajectory, the COO will lead and accelerate the adoption of process standardization and best practices in achieving operational excellence. With responsibility over the entire senior leadership team, this extremely important hire requires a depth and breadth of experience and expertise across a wide range of departments and functions. In addition to broad operational experience, PHNTX seeks candidates who bring experience in HR and IT, specifically, given current challenges and opportunities in those areas.
With the transition to FQHC status well underway, PHNTX will prioritize candidates with leadership experience in FQHCs, especially larger, multi-location organizations. Connecting with the mission, values, and culture of the organization is a must, as is strong emotional intelligence. The next COO will embrace diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, recognizing how different lived experiences and backgrounds provide the canvas for successful community service and healthcare delivery. They will thrive under the changing environment of the community health center landscape and be a part of a team of national thought leaders and subject matter experts working closely together to achieve the organization’s mission.
