Bothell, WA - United States
The University of Washington Bothell (UW Bothell) seeks an innovative, inclusive, and visionary individual committed to promoting and fostering excellence in teaching, research, and service as its next Dean of the School of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
One of three campuses of the University of Washington, UW Bothell was founded in 1989 and is known for providing a student experience grounded in close relationships with faculty as researchers, teachers, and mentors — and for the personalized support of staff who are dedicated to student success. UW Bothell is home to more than 5,800 students who are enrolled in more than 55 different undergraduate programs and graduate programs.
The School of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics was approved by the University of Washington Board of Regents in 2013 in response to the need for a greater number of STEM graduates to meet the demands of industry in Washington state. UW Bothell combines all of the STEM fields in one academic unit, allowing for cross-disciplinary training and project work. The school’s 79 full-time and 100 part-time faculty serve 1,225 undergraduate students and 294 graduate students in four divisions: biological sciences, computer & software systems, engineering & mathematics, and physical sciences.
