Vice President, Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer
East Tennessee Children's Hospital
Knoxville, TN - United States
East Tennessee Children’s Hospital (ETCH) seeks a progressive, inspirational executive to serve as its next Vice President, Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer (VP). ETCH is a not-for-profit, private, independent pediatric health system that has been committed to providing exceptional care and services to families in Knoxville, Tennessee, and beyond since 1937. Reporting to Matt Schaefer, ETCH’s President and Chief Executive Officer, the next VP will serve as an integral part of the leadership team. Building upon a solid foundation, the VP will have the opportunity to make a true impact and elevate nursing and patient care services throughout the organization.
ETCH includes the 152-bed main hospital, 14 pediatric primary care locations across the region, 4 urgent care locations, a joint venture outpatient pediatric surgery center, and the region’s only pediatric home health agency. ETCH recently concluded a new expansion project, including a five-story building and a two-level parking structure. It also includes a private room Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) that enables the facility to give the best possible care in a state-of-the-art unit. The reputation of ETCH throughout the region is defined by the excellence of both quality of care and “high touch” or service excellence. As an organization, they have an extremely collaborative culture and work proactively for the health of children in the region with other providers.
The next VP will be a contemporary leader who is able to articulate new strategies and ideas. This individual will lead safety, quality, and improvement initiatives and will be a highly engaging, visible leader who encourages teams to work closely toward a shared vision. The ideal candidate will be collaborative and results-oriented, with demonstrated success in achieving positive outcomes in dynamic environments. This nursing executive will bring a leadership style aligned with ETCH’s mission and values and must be passionate about and committed to the highest quality care for children and their families.
