WittKieffer is proud to announce it is partnering with Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare (MLH), based in Memphis, Tennessee to assist in the recruitment of candidates for the Senior Vice President, Chief Nursing Executive (SVP, CNE) position. This is a unique career opportunity for an experienced individual strongly compelled to participate with an energetic leadership team to transform healthcare for the people of Memphis.
Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer, this position serves as the top executive nursing leader for the system and is a member of the MLH executive team. The SVP, CNE has accountability for developing and implementing standards of nursing practice to ensure delivery of quality patient care in compliance with all state, federal, and local regulations laws, standards, and protocols. The SVP, CNE collaborates on the development and implementation of system-wide nursing initiatives, including consistent review of clinical practices to ensure patients receive care that aligns with evidence-based practice. The SVP, CNE will be innovative in ways that technology can transform patient care to remain the healthcare system of choice while capturing the needs of the workforce for the present and future. They are responsible for supporting the knowledge and use of an electronic medication record that is proven to provide the MLH clinical team the information they need to care for patients, while supplying patients the information and tools to take control of their health. This role will use the patient and family-centered care principles and collaborate with all members of the health care team to continually make improvements for all stakeholders. The SVP, CNE models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH’s mission, vision, and values.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree is assumed; a Master’s degree required. Either the Bachelor’s or Master’s degree must be in nursing. An earned doctorate (PhD, DNP, DNSc, EdD) is also required.
Current Tennessee state nursing license or eligibility for nursing licensure in the state of Tennessee.
A minimum of ten (10) years’ senior leadership experience as a Chief Nurse Executive, Vice President of Nursing, or highly seasoned Director of Nursing in a large, urban, complex medical center or system environment. Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in hospital nursing operations with demonstrated professional and technical knowledge and experience in all facets of contemporary nursing leadership and experience will be important.
Experience in leading an organization to achievement of Magnet or Pathways to Excellence designation is required as well as Shared Governance experience and experience with clinical councils.
