WittKieffer is excited to lead the search to find Marshfield Clinic Health System’s next Core Line Administrator of Laboratory Services. This is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving system serving central, northern and western Wisconsin.
Marshfield Clinic Health System (MCHS) is an integrated health system whose mission is to enrich lives through accessible, affordable compassionate health care. The Health System serves Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula with more than 1,600 providers comprising 170 specialties, health plan, and research and education programs. Their investment in modern infrastructure, technology and care delivery is designed to make MCHS a leading integrated system of care.
Reporting to the Chief Service & Core Line Officer, the next Core Line Administrator of Laboratory Services assumes the responsibility for comprehensive operational and strategic oversight of the service line across MCHS. The organizational structure encompasses 11 hospitals and around 45 clinics distributed throughout the region. These facilities collectively manage an annual billable volume of approximately $3M, generating revenue exceeding $350M. Working in dyad with the Service Line Medical Director, this individual wields authority and takes charge of strategic and tactical planning. Success in this capacity hinges on adopting a participatory leadership/management approach, prioritizing team-centric orientation, fostering systemic thinking, and establishing effective interpersonal connections.
This is an onsite role based in Marshfield, WI.
The successful Core Line Administrator of Laboratory Services candidate will:
- Provide leadership and focus on patient-centered, cost-effective, integrated across the service line (to include in-system, commercial, and hospital-based services), and delivered with high quality.
- Maintain collaborative relationships with leadership across the system.
- Develop organizational structure within the core line to deliver services efficiently.
- Oversee the financial performance of the service across the system, including the budgeting process for the service line to ensure attainment of operational and financial goals.
- Develop a comprehensive core line plan and regularly update Service Line plan as healthcare environment changes to remain a viable and relevant service for the organization. Establish marketing and program development plan for service line growth.
The preferred candidate will possess ten or more years of progressive management experience within the selected core line. A Master’s degree in Business or Healthcare Administration is required.
