Kenneth and Dianne Wright Center for Clinical and Translational Research for biomedical informatics within the Wright Center and to the Director of the Massey Cancer Center for informatics cancer activities.

Specifically, the CBMI will provide leadership, vision and support in the areas of biomedical informatics, research computing, informatics education, grant writing, and technology innovation. The CBMI will partner closely with peers at VCU Health System, including the Chief Medical Information Officer, on efforts to efficiently acquire and utilize health data in research while doing so in a safe and secure way.
The CBMI is an institution-wide leadership role and will need to be able to lead at the highest levels of the organization. The CBMI would be expected to foster interdisciplinary collaborations on campus among the various departments which can lead to novel studies, new grants, new training programs, and improved patient care.
