Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic seeks a collaborative, mission-driven, and experienced operational leader to serve as its next Chief Operating Officer (COO). This is a unique opportunity to serve in a leadership role at one of the largest, most respected community health center institutions in the U.S.
What began as a small clinic built by volunteers in 1978, Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic has grown into one of the largest community health centers in the Northwest, with over 40 clinics in 18 communities across Washington and Oregon. The neighborhood-based centers serve over 200,000 patients, regardless of their ability to pay, through the dedicated work of over 2,000 caregivers and 373 medical, dental and behavioral health providers. Additionally, YVFWC is leading in the era of national health care reform and is Joint Commission certified, Meaningful Use recognized, and has been NCQA Level 3 Patient-Centered Medical Home recognized since 2014.
The next COO will serve as a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for setting the overall strategic direction, establishing organizational priorities, and ensuring the successful execution of the organization’s mission and goals. This role provides top-level leadership and guidance across all operational areas—including medical, dental, pharmacy, behavioral health, and health and wellness programs—ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered services. The COO fosters alignment across departments, drives operational excellence, and communicates strategic priorities and plans to teams throughout the organization.
The ideal candidate will be a visible and inspirational leader who has high integrity and a passion for YVFWC’s mission. A successful track record of operational leadership and fiscal management gained in a community-based healthcare environment is required for the role.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related field is required; a Master’s Degree is preferred. Interested candidates should have ten years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations, including at least five years in a senior or executive-level role with direct accountability for multi-site clinic operations, administrative oversight, strategic planning, and organizational performance.
The anticipated base compensation range for this position is: $352,000 – $457,000, commensurate with the successful candidate’s experience. Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on several factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the industry.
