WittKieffer is honored to announce a CEO search we have launched with LifeLong Medical Care, one of the largest federally qualified health centers in California. Lifelong seeks a mission-oriented executive with a deep commitment to providing high-quality, comprehensive health care and safety net services to the most vulnerable and underserved populations in the East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area. LifeLong is comprised of 14 locations including primary care, behavioral health, homeless services, senior independence, and mobile clinic outreach. LifeLong employs more than 1,000 and has a revenue of approximately $130 million.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO is directly responsible for the strategic direction, vision, and operations of LifeLong. The CEO will develop LifeLong’s strategic plan and vision, ensuring the achievement of its mission. As the healthcare landscape continues to evolve with a major emphasis on value-based care for community health centers, the CEO must identify opportunities and strategies to improve long term growth and sustainability. Balancing the strategic with the tactical, this CEO will partner with the senior leadership team to ensure LifeLong has the appropriate systems, resources, training, technology, and policies in place to track and monitor performance to achieve the organization’s short and long-term goals. The CEO will be deeply committed to serving underserved and at-risk communities and have a demonstrated history of improving health outcomes. The CEO must readily build trust and gain buy-in around LifeLong’s vision and strategy by leading a highly committed, mission-driven staff.
The successful candidate should have 10+ years progressive leadership experience in a multi-functional, mission-oriented healthcare organization. Senior-level executive experience in a FQHC, community health center, primary care facility, or human services organization is ideal. A commitment to the organization’s mission and work is essential, along with exceptional communication and relationship-building skills. Candidates should have strong business and financial acumen and be viewed as strategic, highly collaborative leaders with impeccable ethical standards.
