Sutter Care at Home is seeking an experienced home health and hospice leader to lead operations as its Chief Operating Officer (COO). This pivotal role offers a unique opportunity to lead home health and hospice care operations for a growing and mission-driven division within one of the nation’s largest not-for-profit integrated healthcare systems.
With operating revenues approaching $20 billion this year, Sutter Health has a strong history and heritage of serving communities in Northern California. A strategic and growing arm of Sutter Health, Sutter Care at Home’s programs include home health, hospice, home infusion, medical and respiratory equipment, and PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly). Total annual revenues in 2024 for Sutter Care at Home were $541 million.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer of Sutter Care at Home and serving as a key member of the leadership team, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) will oversee and guide operations across home health and hospice programs. This role will focus on optimizing team performance and driving productivity, with a strong emphasis on coaching and engagement with clinical staff. The COO will be responsible for contributing to Sutter Care at Home’s strategy and be accountable for the delivery of high-quality and efficient care.
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned home health and hospice leader with a clinical background. A background in nursing is strongly preferred for the role. The new leader will have a successful record of leadership gained in complex healthcare environments and demonstrate passion for the organization’s mission. This individual will be a collaborative, team-oriented professional with exceptional communication skills and a demonstrated ability to deliver results in dynamic and multifaceted settings.
This role is located in the San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento Area.
