UH Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital seeks a visionary, strategic, and collaborative physician leader to serve as its next System Chief Medical Officer (CMO). The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for UH Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital (RB&C) is a key executive position responsible for providing leadership to the UH RB&C hospital medical staff and working closely with entity leadership to integrate patient care services and delivery across multiple disciplines. This includes overseeing credentialing and privileging, serving as chair of the Medical Executive Committee of UH RB&C, managing physician relations and staffing, and directing utilization and case management. The CMO also serves both the hospital and the Department of Pediatrics in the oversight of clinical operations, acts as the Physician Advisor for Rainbow Babies and Children’s senior leaders. Partners with the UH RB&C Chief Quality Officer for quality assurance efforts, including RCA oversight, grievance management and regulatory readiness.
This position will play an integral role in ensuring quality care delivery and strong operations. As such, the CMO is responsible for assisting in the coordination of resource management and partnering with the Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital President, Chief Nursing Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Department Chair of Pediatrics, Pediatric Surgeon in Chief, and the Pediatric Primary Care Institute leaders on patient flow-related activities in the hospitals and outpatient services across the system. The RB&C CMO is responsible for data-driven initiatives and for ensuring the appropriate involvement required by the various physician departments, divisions, and committees.
