Mary Washington Healthcare in Fredericksburg, Virginia seeks an innovative and growth minded Vice President (VP) of Marketing and Corporate Communications. The VP will lead internal and external Marketing and Communication initiatives, aligning with the organization’s missions and values to enhance its collaborative culture.
Mary Washington Healthcare is a regional, independent, not-for-profit community health system consisting of Mary Washington Hospital (MWH), Stafford Hospital (SH), Mary Washington Medical Group, Mary Washington Hospital Foundation, Stafford Hospital Foundation, Mary Washington Health Alliance, a robust ambulatory network of services and facilities, and joint ventures such as the Fredericksburg Ambulatory Surgery Center, Medical Imaging of Fredericksburg and Fredericksburg Endoscopy Center. The system also includes Snowden at Fredericksburg, a separate 74-bed mental health hospital on the MWH campus. MWHC has over 47 medical specialties and more than 850 physicians and Allied health professionals. Mary Washington is significantly investing in its Graduate Medical Education (GME) program.
The Vice President will collaborate with executive leadership to formulate marketing and communication strategies aimed at driving growth, customer acquisition, and retention. This role will be instrumental in promoting services and engaging stakeholders, with a focus on both internal and external communications, as well as market expansion. As a key leader, they will play a pivotal role in amplifying and growing the health system’s brand. This next leader will have a focus on accessing and evaluating the overall organizational brand and identifying tactics to further deepen brand and loyalty from the customers of the health system. Responsibilities include creating and implementing communication plans that enhance and protect the organization’s brand, developing public relations activities, and serving as an organizational ambassador. The VP will also enhance brand awareness through strategic campaigns.
Preferred candidates will have leadership experience at similar institutions, managing events, media relations, digital strategy, branding and public relations. They should be skilled in grasping healthcare industry complexities and driving successful campaigns. A master’s degree is required, along with strong judgment, values, and a passion for healthcare.
