Mercy Health Northwest Arkansas Community in Rogers, Arkansas, is seeking a progressive, dynamic, mission-oriented leader to serve as its next President. As part of the Mercy Health system based in St. Louis, Northwest Arkansas is a growing community with expanding business opportunities as the region continues to assert itself as the hub for commerce in the state. The new President will join the health system at an exciting and critical time in the organization’s history as Mercy Health looks to establish a deeper presence in the community for years to come.
Mercy Health is an integrated, $9 billion Catholic health system with over 40 hospitals in Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Kansas. Northwest Arkansas has been an integral fabric since its opening in 2008 as part of Mercy Health. At the center of the community, Mercy Hospital Northwest Arkansas provides high-quality care to the residents as a Level III Trauma Center with 258 beds. The hospital will be expanding bed count in the near future to meet the needs of the growing community. Currently, Northwest Arkansas generates annual net patient revenues of approximately $570 million, with considerable local philanthropic support from the foundation to help fund key initiatives and construction projects to improve health care access in Northwest Arkansas.
Northwest Arkansas also features a physician network with employed providers that serves a five-county area in Arkansas and an additional two counties in Missouri. Mercy Hospital Berryville is a critical access hospital that brings much-needed access and services to the eastern portion of the service area. Quality has long been synonymous with the focus of Mercy Health in Arkansas. Mercy Hospital Northwest Arkansas is a Top 100 Hospital by Watson Health, a Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade ‘A’ facility, and boasts the highest CMS Star Rating in the region with 5-stars. Northwest Arkansas sees nearly 280,000 patients annually in outpatient settings and has approximately 16,000 discharges. The hospital also facilitates about 76,000 emergency room visits and performs almost 13,000 surgical procedures annually. Mercy Health anchors health care for the region and is the market leader.
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Community Operations, Acute and Ambulatory, for Mercy Health, the President of Mercy Northwest Arkansas Community will lead an experienced and talented leadership team to push the landscape of health care forward in Arkansas in alignment with the mission and vision of Mercy Health. They will lead strategy and operations for the community and drive operational, financial, and clinical performance in an impactful way. They will partner with key stakeholders within the system and the greater community to advance innovative care strategies for transforming local population into an increasingly dynamic environment for healthcare operations.
The President will need to have the ability to develop relationships within Mercy Health Northwest Arkansas, Mercy Health, and externally throughout the region. They will bring passion for the health care mission and a history of championing an organization that provides accessible, high-quality, patient- and family-centered care and an unrivaled patient experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong executive presence and an ability to embrace the external relationships within the community, drive philanthropic support, and push health care forward. Additionally, the next President will be forward-thinking, with experience leading and implementing innovative strategies, including strategic partnerships, technology advancements, and a new digital strategy, and possess deep experience working within complex, integrated health systems.
