Mercy Health is seeking a mission-driven, strategic, and visionary executive to serve as the next President of Mercy St. Louis Communities. This leader will oversee a comprehensive network that includes the 859-bed flagship hospital—Missouri’s third largest—as well as more than 300 ambulatory care sites across St. Louis County. These include clinics, ambulatory surgery centers, urgent care facilities, and pharmacies. The hospital is home to a Level I Trauma Center, a Level IV NICU, the David C. Pratt Cancer Center, a leading heart and vascular hospital, and the only pediatric hospital in St. Louis County.
Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, Community Operations, Acute and Ambulatory, the President will be responsible for aligning inpatient and outpatient operations, driving clinical excellence, operational efficiency, financial performance, and patient experience. The President will play a pivotal role in advancing Mercy’s transformation to a consumer-focused care model, including digital engagement, virtual care expansion, and personalized patient navigation.
Mercy Health is a nationally recognized, faith-based health system with more than 40 hospitals and over $9 billion in revenue, serving communities across Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Kansas. Mercy St. Louis Communities, based in Creve Coeur, Missouri, is the flagship and most complex regional hub within the system, generating over $1.7 billion in net patient revenue and supporting more than 1.8 million patient visits annually.
The ideal candidate will bring significant executive experience within a complex, integrated health system and a demonstrated ability to lead through change. A track record of building high-performing teams, fostering physician and community partnerships, and championing innovation—including digital health and value-based care—is essential. The President must be a visible, relationship-oriented leader who embodies Mercy’s mission and values, and who can inspire alignment across clinical and operational teams.
