Episcopal Health Services, Inc. (EHS), located in Queens, New York, seeks nominations and applications for its Medical Director, Ambulatory Care. EHS is seeking a passionate and engaged physician leader committed to quality, patient safety, and fostering a high-reliability culture to serve in this role.
EHS’s Medical Director, Ambulatory Care will provide clinical leadership, oversight and direction to EHS’s ambulatory clinics, St. John’s Medical Group (SJMG) and Innovative Health Partner’s IPA.
Reporting directly to EHS’s Senior Vice President, Chief Medical Officer and partnering closely with EHS’s Vice President, Ambulatory Services, the Medical Director, Ambulatory Care will work collaboratively to implement a vision, strategy, and overall structure that supports EHS’s ambulatory operations, including SJMG and the IPA. The new leader will drive performance improvement and evidence-based practice and promote EHS’s mission of providing optimal care to the community. This leader will work across EHS’s ambulatory sites and build a consistent, high-quality platform.
EHS, the largest employer on the Peninsula, has a dedicated team of more than 400 physicians, over 1,500 employees, and many committed volunteers. St. John’s Episcopal Hospital is Episcopal Health Services, Inc.’s main campus location. The 257-bed acute care facility is widely recognized as the only hospital providing emergency and ambulatory care to the densely populated surrounding communities that are culturally and economically diverse and medically underserved.
The successful Medical Director, Ambulatory Care will be a physician with at least five years of experience in progressive healthcare management roles and clinical practice and a minimum of three years’ experience as a physician leader in an IPA, physician practice, ambulatory or hospital setting. MD/DO is required and an advanced degree in health care or a business-related field is preferred. The successful candidate will be a highly visible, proactive, transparent and decisive physician leader.

Expected Salary Range: $315,000-$350,000
The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range. Compensation takes into account several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by EHS. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package and an annual bonus incentive.
