Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital (Le Bonheur), part of Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare (MLH) in Memphis, Tennessee, is seeking a dynamic leader passionate about pediatric healthcare to be its Vice President, Executive Director of UT Le Bonheur Pediatric Specialists (ULPS), which is the joint physician practice plan between Le Bonheur and University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC).
Le Bonheur is a nationally recognized 255-bed, Level I pediatric trauma center, offering comprehensive services for children from birth to 21 years. It’s part of MLH and has strong ties to the University of Tennessee and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The hospital has strong finances, with approximately $468 million in annual net patient revenues and a $59 million endowment, aiming to grow to $100 million in six years.
The Vice President, Executive Director of ULPS will be employed by Le Bonheur and will report to the President of Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital with a matrix reporting line to the Executive Dean of the UTHSC. The faculty practice plan comprises 250+ pediatric specialists in 45 specialties, along with 50 APPs and over 450 employees. This leader will work across teams to oversee day-to-day operations and ensure the long-term success of the practice plan. Responsibilities include fostering a cohesive culture, improving systems and processes, and driving continuous improvement. The Vice President, Executive Director ULPS will develop a shared vision, engage providers, and support growth with standardized plans, compensation, policies, and objectives, while ensuring clinical, operational, and financial accountability.
The Vice President, Executive Director ULPS is a critical role requiring extensive experience in pediatric ambulatory-based medicine, infrastructure, and support. The ideal candidate will be an experienced leader with strong credibility and a clear vision. They should communicate effectively with physicians and administrators, formulating infrastructure and systems for high performance. The VP should have at least five years of demonstrated leadership in outpatient clinic or physician practice management experience in a multispecialty or pediatric group. A Master’s degree is also required.
