TidalHealth, headquartered in Salisbury, Md., is seeking a strategic, dynamic, inspirational human resources executive to serve as the health system’s next Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to serve as the lead human resources executive of an organization undergoing a major transformation to become one unified health system.
TidalHealth was formed in 2020 after formerly separate healthcare entities across the Delmarva Peninsula united to make a more seamless experience for patients with the strength of being better together. TidalHealth is comprised of two acute care hospitals: TidalHealth Peninsula Regional and TidalHealth Nanticoke, a 300+ provider group; and TidalHealth Medical Partners, an extensive ambulatory network and multiple joint ventures. TidalHealth provides a full range of services, including neurosurgery, cardiothoracic surgery, joint replacement, emergency/trauma care, comprehensive cancer care, wound care, and clinical trials and research as a member of the Johns Hopkins Clinical Research Network. In addition, TidalHealth has embarked on establishing a graduate medical education program which, over the next several years, will be the third largest single site program in Maryland.
Reporting directly to the CEO and President of TidalHealth, Steve Leonard, Ph.D., MBA, FACHE, the Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer holds primary responsibility for fostering team member relations and engagement, overseeing compensation and benefits, leading talent acquisition and recruitment efforts, managing performance evaluations, shaping HR policies and procedures, and facilitating training and development initiatives. As TidalHealth undergoes further integration, this role will be pivotal in spearheading these initiatives across operational, financial, and cultural dimensions. Collaborating closely with executive leadership, the Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer will contribute to the development of system-wide processes and policies aimed at enhancing integration and unity within the organization. Key areas of focus will include addressing recruitment and retention challenges, enhancing team member engagement and morale, and fostering improved communication and collaboration throughout the system.
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned leader with 10 (ten) years of human resources management experience at a muti-site organization with at least five years of experience in healthcare. A Master’s degree in business, human resources, industrial psychology, healthcare administration, or a related field is required.
