WittKieffer today announced it has expanded its presence in the Asia-Pacific region by recently adding two new consultants to its Singapore office. Joining the team are Joanne Koo, senior research manager, and Gilbert Khor, engagement manager for Asia. In addition to their executive search expertise, both Koo and Khor have direct life sciences industry experience that has helped to establish their networks and understand how clients’ businesses operate. Their additions enhance WittKieffer’s ability to serve clients based in Asia and operate seamlessly on a global scale in the life sciences sector, as well as healthcare and education.
Joanne Koo has 14 years of recruitment experience, most recently as a senior consultant in one of Singapore’s leading executive search firms. She began her career as a medical representative and later held talent acquisition positions within the pharmaceutical and medical device fields, including at Baxter International and Takeda Pharmaceuticals. She advises biopharmaceutical, medical device and diagnostic firms, as well as colleges and universities, academic medical centers, community hospitals and other healthcare organizations across the Asia-Pacific region.
Gilbert Khor brings to WittKieffer a strong background in executive recruiting and a broad network of contacts throughout Asia. Most recently, Khor served as a senior consultant for Ethos BeathChapman, where he recruited executives for companies in life sciences, including biotech startups, along with academic medicine and healthcare. He began his career in laboratory work before becoming a sales/product specialist with Sigma Aldrich and later with VWR. His areas of expertise include biopharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical devices, applied solutions and contract manufacturing. He also has experience with academic medical centers, hospitals and other healthcare organizations across the Asia-Pacific region.
“WittKieffer is pleased to have Joanne and Gilbert join our Singapore team,” said Anissa Low, managing director of WittKieffer’s Singapore operations. “They both possess deep experience in the life sciences field, extensive networks across Asia, and understand the Asia-Pacific market for executive talent. In addition, they are consummate professionals who put the success of clients and candidates first.”
WittKieffer established Singapore as its regional hub for Asia-Pacific services in 2020 as part of the firm’s commitment to support multinational clients with comprehensive access to the global talent pool. “As we build out our team in Asia, we increase our ability to serve our clients wherever their talent needs may be, and to draw from a truly global pool of candidates,” said Andrew Chastain, president and CEO of WittKieffer. “Gilbert and Joanne help us take a significant step forward with our global focus as a firm.”
