The changing nature of healthcare is, understandably, dramatically changing executive roles. Yet organizations often adhere to historical job descriptions that emphasize skills and knowledge gained from work experience (the “what”) versus leadership behaviors and attributes (the “how” and the “who”), which leaves them struggling to find executives who can fill key positions because they are defined in traditional ways (e.g., 15 years of increasing responsibility in a hospital setting). At the same time, many executives feel misaligned with their shifting positions and unsure of how to succeed in them.
In this webinar, the presenters – Jamie Wiggins, Ph.D., Chief Operating Officer of Arkansas Children’s, and WittKieffer senior partners Raj Ramachandran and Daniel Young – provide a “Leadership Lenses” framework for how leaders can assess their roles and succeed in them despite not being a “perfect fit”. The framework emphasizes introspection and self-management as a means for adapting to changing conditions. Presenters will also look at the skills and competencies that are truly dictating success in today’s healthcare environment and suggest ways that executives can hone these skills and better position themselves for the future.
