Robert Springall is an accomplished administrator with keen insight into the monumental challenges facing institutions as well as an appreciation for the vision and creativity needed in today’s leaders. In identifying exceptional candidates, he leverages relationships he has built over three decades in higher education. Rob recruits for a range of roles, with specializations in international education (including senior international officers), enrollment management (vice presidents, AVPs, deans, and directors), and academic leadership (deans, chairs, and directors).
Prior to joining WittKieffer, Rob held the position of assistant vice president for enrollment management and executive director of undergraduate admissions at the Pennsylvania State University. As the university’s senior admissions officer, he oversaw a team of 85 full-time staff supporting more than 100,000 applicants per year to programs across 21 campuses and 19 academic units. Among many accomplishments, he helped achieve the three largest and most diverse application pools in Penn State’s history and was appointed by the provost in 2021 to co-lead the university’s first-ever comprehensive study of international recruitment and student experience. Before his service to Penn State, Rob was vice president for enrollment management at Muhlenberg College and dean of admissions of Bucknell University. Earlier in his career he held key roles at the University of Central Florida, Cornell University, and the University of Vermont.
From 2014 to 2019, Rob served on the board of directors for The Common Application, an elected position for the nonprofit. He was board chair for a year, working closely with the organization’s CEO and directors on implementation of strategic and financial plans for long-term stability and growth.
