Jessica Herrington (she/her) brings to her role as Principal in WittKieffer’s Education Practice a wealth of experience in academia and a passion for assisting institutions in finding creative and effective leaders – including women and members of underrepresented groups. Based in Portland, Oregon, Jessica supports the recruitment of a range of key senior administrators including presidents, provosts, deans, and departmental leaders. She has particular expertise in searches in the areas of advancement, the STEM fields, and library leadership. In identifying talent, Jessica prioritizes discovering the unique strengths of candidates to match institutions’ most pressing needs.
Prior to joining WittKieffer, she spent nearly a decade in strategic leadership roles, with an emphasis on development, fundraising, and alumni relations. Most recently, Jessica was the executive director of development and alumni relations within the College of Engineering and Computing at Florida International University (FIU) in Miami. Her responsibilities in this role included designing and implementing fundraising strategies for the college as well as promoting STEM-related scholarships for students of color and first-generation university students. Previously she served the University of Miami in various leadership capacities, including director of development. She helped to spearhead successful capital campaigns to advance the institution’s mission and held earlier roles focused on major gifts, special events, and donor relations.
