The University of Maryland, College Park, one of the nation’s preeminent public research universities, is accepting inquiries, nominations and applications for the position of Executive Director of University Corporate Relations (EDUCR).
This is an exciting opportunity for a visionary leader to shape the future of corporate engagement at the University of Maryland. The EDUCR will be critical in driving corporate partnerships, fostering meaningful campus relationships, and contributing to the University’s strategic objectives and financial growth.
Reporting directly to the Assistant Vice President for Central Development, the EDUCR will build a team and lead the Office of Corporate Relations with a focus on fostering and managing strategic partnerships with businesses and industry groups. In collaboration with the Office of the Vice President for Research and other key stakeholders, the EDUCR will develop a comprehensive corporate engagement strategy that identifies opportunities across the campus, aiming to enhance corporate philanthropy and research funding.
Key responsibilities include strengthening relationships with businesses, leading university-wide efforts to attract corporate support, and managing a portfolio of 15-20 major corporate partners. Additionally, the EDUCR will collaborate with corporations to advance their business objectives by leveraging the University’s vast resources and expertise. The EDUCR’s team will assist businesses in navigating the University’s offerings, uncovering innovative solutions, and creating significant impacts on their operations. The University and its corporate partners will drive meaningful innovation and achieve substantial business and societal impact.
The ideal candidate will be a professional with high integrity who has an eye toward new possibilities; brings a record of success in innovative and creative problem-solving; and is a team player with the capacity to provide leadership, direction, and strategic vision. Minimum qualifications include 10 years of relevant and progressively responsible experience that includes managing staff, setting and meeting goals and metrics, and developing strategic plans. A bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s or doctoral degree is preferred.

Salary commensurate with education and experience with a base salary range of the low $200,000s to mid $250,000s. The University offers a hybrid work model, requiring a minimum office presence of ten days per month. Team members, including direct reports, typically work from the office 3-4 days weekly to balance remote flexibility with in-person collaboration.
