Reporting to the Chief Administrator/COO and overseeing team of over 350, the Executive Director of Oncology Services and Cell and Gene Therapy is responsible for managing and administrating all facets of the clinical oncology and Cell and Gene therapy program, including all federal/state regulatory compliance requirements. This Executive Director is the leader of the comprehensive program of patient care delivery related to oncology and cell and gene therapy, encompassing the adult and pediatric oncology clinics, the stem cell transplant program, radiation oncology, cell gene therapy, supportive oncology, Cancer Clinic Infusion Centers, and outpatient stem cell and gene therapies used for the treatment of Cancer and non-oncology related diseases.
Within this capacity, the Executive Director will partner with division and hospital leadership, Adult and Pediatric Infusion Centers, Pharmacy, and medical directors to maintain program excellence, fiscal health, accreditation, and program growth. The position is responsible for an annual expense budget of $153M and with projected gross revenues of $1B.
This is an onsite role based in Sacramento, CA.
In this role, the Executive Director will:
- Develop, implement, and promote an effective, efficient administrative and clinical organizational structure to achieve the organization’s Oncology and Cell and Gene Therapy Program’s strategic goals and human resource needs. The incumbent will ensure compliance with all relevant organizations (CMS, Joint Commission, State of California, ACOS, CoC).
- Provide active leadership in support and implementation of the UCDH initiatives. In conjunction with UCDH administration, the Executive Director will work to meet training, patient care, and research needs. Work collaboratively with the Cancer Center CAO/Associate Director of Administration to align and integrate research and clinical trial activities of the Cancer Center into the operational workflows of the clinic and infusion centers.
- Lead the strategic and business planning efforts for the Oncology Program clinical and leadership and Hospital Administration. The Executive Director has oversight for development, implementation, monitoring and updating of the strategic business plan to achieve Oncology Program performance goals.
- Execute the budgetary process for the multi-million-dollar oncology and cell and gene therapy programs and is responsible for developing fiscal projections and budget analyses for new programs and systems. In this capacity, the incumbent formulates, manages and controls fiscal policy, clinical revenue and expenditures.
The preferred candidate will possess ten or more years of management/ executive experience in a complex tertiary health system, academic medical center, extensive clinically integrated network or comparable health care environment. A Master’s degree in hospital administration, business administration or health related field is required.
Salary Range: $160,700 – $274,700 – $388,700.
