The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) seeks an innovative and entrepreneurial academic leader for the Executive Associate Dean of Academics (EAD) position for the College of Nursing (CON). The Executive Associate Dean serves as the chief architect and driver of academic growth and expansion for the CON.
Reporting directly to the Dean and serving on the College’s senior leadership team, the EAD will lead the strategic design and execution of a statewide academic expansion agenda—developing new programs, delivery models, clinical and academic partnerships, and revenue-generating initiatives that align with workforce demand and institutional priorities.
MUSC is the state’s only comprehensive academic health sciences center, with six colleges and a robust health system serving patients and communities across the state. The MUSC College of Nursing offers undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs, with national rankings from U.S. News & World Report for its online MSN and DNP programs. A pioneer in online education, MUSC Nursing delivers flexible and accessible learning for a growing student population—including those in rural and underserved communities, across a variety of modalities and pathways.
Qualifications include an earned doctorate (PhD, DNP, or EdD) from an accredited institution, a master’s degree in nursing if the doctorate is not in nursing, eligibility for South Carolina nursing licensure, and academic credentials that merit appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor.
Inquiries, nominations, and applications are invited. Applications should include a curriculum vitae and a letter of application that addresses the responsibilities and requirements. These documents should be sent electronically via e-mail to Diane Smith and Claudia Teschky at [email protected].
