The University of South Alabama (USA) Health Children’s & Women’s Hospital seeks a progressive, inspirational executive to serve as its next Chief Nursing Officer. Located in Mobile, Alabama, Children’s & Women’s Hospital is the only free-standing inpatient facility in the state dedicated to providing the most advanced and comprehensive healthcare to the region’s infants, children, and women. The hospital is a key component of USA Health, the only academic health system on the upper Gulf Coast.
Reporting to Debbie Browning, Children’s & Women’s Hospital’s Chief Executive Officer, the next CNO will serve as an integral part of the leadership team. Building upon a solid foundation, the CNO will have the opportunity to make a true impact and elevate nursing and patient care services throughout the organization.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, collaborative, transparent, and results-oriented, with demonstrated success in achieving positive outcomes in dynamic environments. A background in pediatrics and/or obstetrics is highly preferred. The CNO will work with a team of mission-driven staff that drive and support all patient care services functions in the organization. The ability to balance strategy and innovation with stability and structure in a service-oriented way will be essential.
