Kootenai Health seeks a passionate, accomplished nursing leader to serve as its next Chief Nursing Officer. Kootenai Health is a vibrant integrated delivery system consisting of three hospitals, 300+ provider medical group, and a large ambulatory footprint with over $1 billion in total operating revenue. The system includes a 381-bed flagship hospital and a wide range of physician clinics including a family physician residency program as well as two critical access hospitals.
With a rapidly growing population in northern Idaho and eastern Washington, Kootenai Health is actively expanding its footprint, including the development of a new 30-acre medical campus in Post Falls. Phase one will feature a micro-hospital, emergency department, imaging services, and a multi-story medical office building housing an ambulatory surgery center, clinic offices, and lab services.

The CNO will play a pivotal role in sustaining and advancing this culture of nursing excellence. This leader will champion professional practice, shared governance, and interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care across the continuum.
The ideal candidate is a progressive, strategic nursing leader with a demonstrated track record of driving improvements in quality, safety, and patient experience. The CNO will be a key member of the executive team, partnering across the organization to shape clinical strategy, enhance operational performance, and support workforce development.
Candidates should bring a minimum of 10 years of progressive nursing leadership experience within a complex health system, including prior senior-level roles. Experience in a Magnet-designated organization and a deep understanding of shared governance are highly desirable.
