Salinas Valley Health (SVH) is looking for a collaborative and relationship-oriented executive to be its next CFO, following the retirement of the current incumbent. This is a unique opportunity to lead the financial strategy of an independent, integrated, high-quality healthcare system in Monterey County, California.
SVH is a vibrant healthcare enterprise consisting of a tertiary medical center, a 190-provider integrated medical group, and an extensive ambulatory footprint. Additionally, SVH owns 49% of Aspire Health Plan, a predominantly Medicare Advantage plan. The CFO will be responsible for leading the financial strategy of an organization that has experienced significant growth over the past decade, resulting in an expanded presence in the region.
Reporting to the CEO, the CFO will play a critical role on the executive leadership team and will serve as a strategic partner to the CEO. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership to the finance function, improving operational efficiencies, ensuring timely and accurate billing and collections, and advancing strategies that optimize the financial performance of the organization. Demonstrated experience in managed care contracting is highly desirable.
This leader should be visible and approachable, embodying honesty, transparency, proactivity, and effective communication skills. They must be committed to building trusting and collaborative relationships with peers, physicians, staff, and affiliate partners. Additionally, they should excel at guiding and managing a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of performance and accountability, and establishing high-trust partnerships with key stakeholders to achieve results. Finance leadership experience in a California healthcare organization and experience in a public hospital with an elected board is preferred.

The anticipated salary range is $500,000 – $600,000 (based on experience) plus 20% bonus and benefits.
