Cottage Health seeks an innovative and collaborative technology leader to serve as its Vice President, Chief Information Officer (CIO). This is an exceptional opportunity to advance technology and transformation at an independent and growing health system.
Cottage Health is a high-performing independent, regional health system located in Santa Barbara, California with three acute care hospitals, over $1.1 billion in revenue, and assets of over $3 billion. Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer and serving as a key member of the executive leadership team, the CIO will serve as the overall information systems leader for Cottage Health. Key initiatives will be to develop, communicate, and implement the IT strategic plan; structure and enable a high-performing and customer service-oriented team; address infrastructure needs; enable effective governance; and, consolidate business analytics functions withing the IT analytics team. In addition, the CIO will support the growth of research IT and the expansion of the Cottage Health through leveraging of AI and digital technologies.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic technology executive with demonstrated success leading and advancing IT within a health system. The CIO will be an engaging and team-oriented leader, skilled at developing strong relationships within the IT team, across the health system, and externally with technology partners. This leader will have the ability to develop, communicate and garner buy-in on an IT vision while collaborating with senior leadership to identify and prioritize investments in support of business objectives. The CIO will be a visible leader with exceptional communication skills, who can build and leverage relationships across the organization and drive change through consensus building.

The base salary for this position is $525,000-$580,000. In addition, the CIO will be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive bonus of 25 percent, retirement and additional benefits. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The base compensation range listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. In addition, Cottage offers a robust relocation package including access to Cottage Health’s downpayment assistance program up to 40 percent of downpayment on a housing purchase of $750,000.
