Prisma Health seeks a visionary physician executive with a reputation for exceptional leadership in clinical neurosciences to serve as the inaugural President, Prisma Health Neurosciences Institute (PHNI). This position presents a unique and outstanding opportunity for a dynamic and enterprising physician leader to shape a long-term vision and establish the newly formed Institute as a destination for neurosciences care, both within the state and for the region.
Established in 2017 through the merger of Greenville Health System and Palmetto Health, Prisma Health was created to best serve patients and their families. Today, the System has three regions: Columbia/Sumter (the Midlands), Greenville (the Upstate), and the recent acquisition of Blount Memorial Hospital in Eastern Tennessee. Prisma Health, comprised of 19 hospitals, the 3,700 provider Prisma Health Medical Group and numerous clinical sites, generates annual revenues close to $7 billion. Over 30,000 dedicated team members represent the organization’s most valuable resource: its people.
Prisma Health seeks to bring their expansive multi-disciplinary team into one entity – PHNI and this physician leader represents a unique opportunity to unify Neurology, Neurosurgery, Psychiatry, and related services into an integrated service line. The President will be a distinguished leader who will collaborate with stakeholders to develop an operating model for the future of neurosciences care, education, and research. They will navigate the complexities of this expansive health system, driving strategic initiatives that elevate clinical performance and advance clinical services while fostering a culture of inclusivity and empowerment across all levels.
The ideal candidate will be an outstanding physician and demonstrated servant leader with the ability to effectively align, manage, and develop a vision for the Neurosciences Institute. They will have a thorough understanding of complex multi-facility health systems and have previous success in leading accomplished neuroscience divisions or departments. This physician executive will have a track record of success in recruitment, improving operational performance, and enhancing culture while developing excellent physician relationships in a highly complex system and expansive geographical environment. Candidates must possess an M.D. or equivalent degree and be board certified in neurology, neurosurgery, or psychiatry.
